teaching Sustainable Living Practices for a Better Future

Who We Are

We are a  partnership network non-profit making organisation whose core business is inclusive, participatory, practical and holistic environmental education and sustainable land use in schools, colleges and communities. SCOPE Zambia was also established to promote the sharing of experiences by partners who are committed to assisting schools, colleges and communities to demonstrate sustainable land use with a view of enhancing healthy environments in and out of their surroundings.

We work towards ensuring that schools, colleges & communities achieve living in abundance using their whole land creatively to produce a diverse range of nutritious food and other useful products.

Our Approach

We facilitate the promotion of sustainable land use practices.

SCOPE Zambia uses the Integrated Land Use Design (ILUD) process as a tool for school communities to develop demonstrations of agroecology that meet local needs. We implement projects by working closely with relevant stakeholderssuch as government ministries, NGOs, local community leaders and CBOs.  The different partners are assisted to establish comprehensive in-country schools sustainable land-use projects and programs that share experiences at a national level.

SCOPE Zambia provides technical know-how support to government and non-government partner organizations in Zambia.  The experiences of other SCOPE chapters in the region are used to share with all the participating schools, colleges and communities.

We emphasize the identification and creative use of local and indigenous resources and knowledge while rooted in our culture and celebrating intergenerational learning and ensure genuine and wide participation of young people at all levels of our activities.

SCOPE partners work with schools and colleges to promote productive, multi-purpose and healthy environments that are designed to meet the educational, nutritional and other basic needs of the learners, teachers and parents/farmers.
